I did not remove the hook from its mouth. The vet did that. All I did was force feed it antibiotics and hope.
“Bird,” I said, “I’m a hopeless romantic.”
“Girl,” it said, “me too.”

Twice a Week for a Month and a Half is poetic short fiction. Make what you will of it, but for me, it’s about finding and losing meaning together, then having to start over. Twice a Week… was a live performance reading with Jagadeesh Arunachalam that filled the room with the comforting sound of udgeeth pranayama at STPLN for Gallerihelg 2024, and a part of a combined work entitled Shared Breath.
