Together with artist and activist Felicia Konrad, and breath guide Jagadeesh Arunachalam, we went out to renegotiate our way of being with nature – to slow down and think about initiating a conversation.
First we went out in the biting cold of winter to Slottsparken together with the Concreate crew (images by Lex @). I can feel the cold on my cheeks just looking at the pictures.
Then we sailed out into summer at Overshoot Festival in Folkets Park – a community festival aimed and building togetherness for our climate in crisis.
“To write a poem, you need to live a poem.” So much of poetry has borrowed from the natural world to try to understand our situation. For me, this work was about being with urban nature, not so that it could shine light on my life, but so I could approach moments from the perspective of our shared life.

Slow walking with Felicia Konrad. Inspired the Butoh movement in Japan, slow walking is an in-route to deeper listening and awareness. One might feel self-conscious trying this all alone. This is one of those situations where being in a group allows us to try another way of being, without worrying about how it looks to others. The dramatic reduction in pace lets you take in information from all around you in a more profound way.
